Principal's Message
Welcome to Overlanders School!
Welcome to Overlanders school! Our school is a place where students, families, staff, and community come together to learn, grow, and support one another. We are proud of the strong sense of community that helps to support student success and belonging.
Our school's name comes from the Overlanders who travelled west from the Red River Settlement in 1862, journeying "overland" across the prairies and through the Rocky Mountains toward the Cariboo Gold Fields. Their journey required courage, perseverance, curiosity, and willingness to work together through challenges. It is this adventurous spirit that inspires our own learning community as we journey together in pursuit of learning and growth.
We believe each child has unique gifts, talents, and strength. We strive to create high-quality learning experiences where all students feel safe, welcomed, valued, and challenged to reach their potential. Our vision, "Wonder, Explore, Achieve," captures our belief that learning achievement begins with curiosity and grows through exploration.
Like the Overlanders before us, we know that meaningful journeys are not taken alone. Strong relationships between students, families, staff, and our community partners are essential to student success. We believe that how we treat one another matters, and we strive to ensure that every student experiences a school where kindness, respect, inclusion, and belonging are part of everyday life. Our staff are grateful for the partnership of our families and community members and welcome your involvement in the life our school.
We are excited to continue our journey together-celebrating our successes, embracing the possibilities of the future, and helping every student Wonder, Explore, and Achieve.
I look forward to the adventure that this school year brings.
